Recognize students for their good behavior

Every morning we start the day with our Room 12 Pledge. (We do the actual pledge of allegiance at the school's flag assemby every Monday morning.) It's a team-building activity and helps to reinforce our commitment to being a happier, more productive classroom.

The pledge goes like this:

"As a member of Room 12, I pledge to:
Respect myself by making good choices,
Respect my classmates
by treating them kindly, and
Take responsibility for my actions."

From the pledge, I created an emblem and had a stamp made. It's stamped on letters that go home, book marks, class awards, student bulletins, and a dozen other items.

Using this stamp is just another way that I can keep my focus on the positive.

Teacher Tip: A teacher told me that her 3 R's are "Respectful, Responsible, Resourceful." Very nice.
